The "Pre-Order & Messaging-API" allows guests to place orders in a company via a partner app and send messages to the waiters. Both are transferred directly to the GASTROFIX cash register and displayed.
In order to be able to use the Ordering API productively, you need a connection through a GASTROFIX API partner, with which guests can place orders via their app.
The feature can be activated in the GASTROFIX cloud under Setup --> Restaurant --> Features. To do this, the checkbox of the feature must be activated and saved.
After activating the API and loading the master data on the master device, the functionality is available on all devices. Every employee of the app who is authorized to carry out orders can receive and accept orders and waiter messages from the Order API.

After the order API has been activated, there is a new icon in the app which displays the external orders and waiter messages:
Receiving an Order
As soon as one or more orders or waiter messages are received via the order API, this is indicated by a red display on the order API icon. This symbol is visible to all employees and on all devices.
As soon as the displayed entry has been selected, the order or waiter message is displayed. In this view the order or waiter message can be confirmed by pressing the confirm button.
Afterwards, the articles are transferred to the order form and can be booked on the corresponding table-
ATTENTION: Please note that the order must be confirmed by tapping on the "Order" button.
The table is then assigned to the waiter who accepted the order. If the guest orders articles at a later date via the "Pre-Order & Messaging-API" or sends a waiter message, the corresponding notification will be displayed exclusively for this waiter.
If the waiter should reject the order, the entry in the list can be swiped to the left to discard the message.
The number of notifications is based on the number of tables on which one or more unconfirmed orders are present. The payment process is the same as for regular orders and is carried out via the GASTROFIX - App.
The "Pre-Order & Messaging-API" works with sessions. A session describes the period of time from the first order or waiter message of a guest until the payment transaction. A session is always valid on a single table. Thus, the guest can only place orders on this table. As soon as a waiter "confirms" an order or waiter message, this waiter is assigned to the order. This means that only this specific waiter can see further orders or messages of this guest.
Communication is only possible in one direction. The waiter cannot send an order confirmation via the app.
