With the extension of the EAN/Barcode support, it is possible to configure articles in the GASTROFIX cloud in such a way that EAN/Barcodes (GTIN-13) generated by third party systems can be scanned via the GASTROFIX app.
A Socket Mobile Scanner CHS 7Qi or CHS 7Ci model is required to scan the codes. Using the iPad camera can in some cases lead to misinterpretations of the EAN/Barcode and is not recommended.
The feature can be activated in the GASTROFIX cloud under "Setup" --> "Operations" --> "Features". To do this, the checkbox of the feature (1) must be activated by clicking on it and saved using the "Save" button (2):
In order to be able to scan EAN-Codes, the corresponding articles in the GASTROFIX cloud must be configured:

Depending on the system, the price or weight can be available in the generated EAN code. In both cases, the PLU of the article must be stored by the balance as an EAN code.
To prepare your EAN codes the "Article Type" must be set according to your needs.
If the price is encoded in the EAN code, the article type "Free Price" must be selected. If a weight is encoded in the EAN code, the article type "Weighted Article" must be selected. With this option, the configuration of the sales unit must be the same as that of the third party system.
After the article has been configured, the input can be saved by pressing the "Save" button.
