With the feature "2-Line Customer Display" , the Epson customer displays DM-D30/DM-D110/DM-D210 can be used in checkout mode as an alternative to an iPad. This display is compatible with the Epson printer TM-M30 and supports the ESC-POS protocol.
The feature can be activated in the GASTROFIX Cloud under "Setup" --> "Restaurant" --> "Features". To do this, the checkbox of the feature must be activated and saved.
After the feature has been activated, the configuration can be done under "Setup" --> "Restaurant" --> "Settings". In the settings four display texts can be adjusted, which are shown on the display at certain times:
- Not Signed In: Text displayed if no employee is logged on to the checkout.
- Idle Text: Text displayed when an employee is logged in but no order/sale is being carried out.
- Total Text: Text displayed after "Order" has been pressed and the customer has to pay. The second line of the display shows the amount to be paid.
- Change Text: Text that is displayed as long as the "Next Customer" screen is displayed on the app. The second line shows the change.
After the desired text has been entered in the fields, the entry can be saved by pressing the save button.

In the last step, the iPad must be defined as the customer display source. This setting can be made under "Hardware" --> "Devices" --> "Device Settings".
Under the category "Screensaver & Customer Display" there is the option "Customer Display Source", which is set to "No" by default. To send the data to be displayed from the device to the customer display, this option must be set to "Yes" and the setting saved.
To apply the new settings, the master data must be loaded to the Gastrofix POS-System.
In addition to the four predefined texts, the booked articles are displayed on the customer's display during an order:
The first line displays the item name. The second line shows the number of items and the total price of the item(s).
