What are IP-Addresses?
A device without an IP address is like a house without a number. Data that is being sent would be going nowhere. Therefore, each device on your network needs an IP address. Generally, each IP address in the same network may only be assigned once, which is why we provide most devices with static IP addresses.
IP addresses differ in two types: private and public.
Private addresses are for personal use and can be assigned in three areas:
10.0.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
GASTROFIX uses the address range 192.168.7.1 to 192.168.7.255 as default, which means a maximum number of 254 devices.
